Piano Music Inspired by Nature – Spring 2012

This 1 hour long program explores piano music inspired by Earth, Wind, Water and Fire.

Music by Beethoven, Schumann, Ben-Haim and Debussy.

“Music of Terezin”

This lecture recital explores music written by two of Terezin’s most important composers – Gideon Klein and Viktor Ullmann.  Pieces to be performed and discussed include Gideon Klein’s monumental Piano Sonata, and the final movement of Ullmann’s 7th Sonata, “Variations and Fugue on a Hebrew Folksong.”

The length and exact format of this program is flexible, and can be adjusted according to the needs or your program.  It has been effective both as a stand-alone program, and as part of a larger event, such as a Yom HaShoah service.

“People here are still talking about the event, and especially about your wonderful comments concerning the composers and your fantastic musicality and talent.” – Rabbi Joel Pitkowsky, Congregation Beth Israel, Worcester MA
